About us
We are developing and marketing search and protection solutions for digital media on the Internet. This especially includes finding watermarked media for example for copyright protection purposes.
Since many years the Fraunhofer Institute for Secure Information Technology (Fraunhofer SIT) is successfully developing watermarking algorithms for audio, video and images. It soon showed though that for a complete protection it was enough to only watermark content. Before a watermark could be retrieved from a work, the work needs to be found first. With this idea in mind, the MediaSearch framework was developed, which now forms the technical foundation of the CoSee search services.
It soon became obvious that offering search and protection services was not within the Fraunhofer portfolio. Therefore early in 2009 Patrick Wolf, Konstantin Diener and Dr. Martin Steinebach founded CoSee as a Fraunhofer Spin-off in cooperation with the national EXIST program and the support of the Fraunhofer-Venture-Group.
